My vision for carbon-neutral policing across Hampshire:
The important work of policing presents particular challenges to becoming carbon-neutral, but we know to meet the 1.5°C global target we have to tackle the hard parts as well as delivering the easier wins.
Climate change is an issue I am passionate about and it will be part of every decision I take. As part of my first 100 days in the role, I will set my specific targets for the police force as a whole, including setting a specific date for the PCC office to be carbon neutral.
Across the country, policing has not yet seen the sort of changes in approach we have had in other areas. I will work at a national level with other like-minded PCCs to make sure that policing also plays its part in making the changes we need.
Delivering safer communities means justice for all, and that includes climate justice.
